Twill Cellars

Twill Cellars

Twill Cellars is located in West Linn, Oregon, just 30 minutes south of downtown Portland. Yet it might as well be a world away. In 2000, Molly and Darrel Roby (along with their two Bernese Mountain dogs, Mica and Saylor) began their journey as growers by planting a 2.7 acre vineyard.

Chris Dickson, following studies in Psychology and Biology, spent years working for several well-regarded winemakers around the world. Jonathan Sundy, an artist who knew Chris in high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, contributes his talents to the project.

They began Twill Cellars to explore some of the more unique terroirs in Oregon. Their goal was to craft serious wines that are vineyard and vintage specific.

The philosophy at Twill Cellars is to be organic in the fields and very low impact in the winery. They work with farmers who share their vision. All of the vineyards they source from are dryland farmed (no irrigation), using organic or sustainable practices. Vines cover a total of approximately seven hectares, one of which is estate farmed. Each vineyard lends itself to a particular variety of grape and Twill Cellars focuses on capturing the site-specific terroir in its wines.
